The UCLA men’s soccer team did not ease its way into the new season as most teams do by playing a couple unranked, lower-tier opponents. Instead, the Bruins stormed their way into the national spotlight this weekend by defeating two top-25 teams on the road in three days. More »

After graduating from UCLA last December, defender Joe Sofia was drafted by the San Jose Earthquakes in the MLS Draft, but was cut from the team late June. Sofia decided to retire from professional soccer to take an offer from Deloitte and pursue a new career in management consulting.

After a successful four-year career with UCLA men’s soccer, defender Joe Sofia hung up the blue and gold jersey and graduated last December. Not only did he prove his value on the field as he helped anchor the Bruins’ defense, Sofia made sure that academics remained as much of a priority as soccer. More »
