With construction on two of the three new residential plazas
completed and the third well underway, this years’
second-years will be the first UCLA students to have three years of
guaranteed university housing available to them.

With Black Sunday permanently abolished, one fraternity on a
two-year hiatus and another losing its house, some members of the
Greek community are disappointed with where they see UCLA’s
Greek system heading.

article to have sold insider information about a potential new drug

panel of UCLA faculty and the Securities and Exchange Commission,

Mantle Hood, founder of the UCLA Department of Ethnomusicology,
died on July 31 from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. He
was 87.
In addition to founding the ethnomusicology program at UCLA,
Hood also pioneered an idea he termed “bi-musicality,”
meaning that ethnomusicologists should learn to play the music of
the cultures they study.

By the time the bus pulled up in Falmouth, Jamaica, each
morning, the medical students, doctors and other practitioners

Councilwoman Cindy Miscikowski told UCLA women Sunday that they

A new branch of the Los Angeles Public Library opened in
Westwood on May 7, offering the area’s readers, including
UCLA students, a new source for their favorite John Grisham, Dan
Brown or J.K.

William Leslie Britt, a former UCLA student, died on April 28 in
a car accident on Interstate 5. He was 22.
Britt had been a student at UCLA up until fall 2004, when he
transferred to University of the Pacific.
