Hosted by UCLA-based event-planning organization House of Balloons, the Westwoodstock music festival took place Saturday on Broxton Avenue. Before the event, the three student founders, John Colarusso, Tim Connors and Jonathan Liu, shared their inspiration and motivation to launch the event.
Tim Connors, a fourth-year cognitive science student, founded Grad Street after he heard complaints about the prices of caps and gowns for graduation. As Grad Street has continued to expand, he decided to pursue entrepreneurship following graduation instead of joining the job search.
Three pairs of students who have never met before answer questions designed to create closeness. The questions were modified from social psychology researcher Arthur Aron’s study “The Experimental Generation of Interpersonal Closeness,” published in 1997.
The Hammer Museum celebrated the opening of “Radical Women: Latin American Art, 1960–1985.” Galleries were open late with live music coming from the courtyard and food trucks.
