This week saw the Bruins compete in the Gifford Collegiate Championship, located in at CordeValle Country Club in San Martin, CA. The Bruins won this event with a final score of 15 under par (1050).

The UCLA women’s golf team finished ninth among 12 teams in this week’s inaugural ANNIKA Intercollegiate held at Reunion Resort in Orlando, Fla.
The No. 4-ranked team in the nation started the three-day tournament by shooting a combined seven-over par (295) to fall 15 strokes behind first-day leaders, the Arizona Wildcats after day one.

Imagine going to school more than 8,000 miles from home, coming to college a quarter before every other first-year student and adjusting to an unfamiliar culture – all at the age of 17.

With only four losses, the UCLA women’s water polo team has had a very strong year, resulting in its No. 2 ranking going into the NCAA tournament.

While rivalry and revenge might appear to motivate the UCLA women’s water polo team in its rematch against USC Wednesday, the Bruins’ source of motivation will come from a desire to show growth and prepare for the postseason.

The UCLA women’s water polo team traveled to Bakersfield this weekend to take on the Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners, whom the Bruins defeated 14-8.
The game featured the Bruins jumping out to an early 5-0 lead and took the score to 13-3 by the end of the third period before fading in the fourth period.

The UCLA women’s water polo team is riding a five-game winning streak heading into this weekend’s trip to CSU Bakersfield.
After a close loss to USC, the Bruins have gotten back on track to win their last five matches.

Despite swimming fast at the NCAA championships, the UCLA swim and dive team was hoping for a better finish. The team placed 21st overall.
“We didn’t score as many points as we had hoped, but for the most part everyone swam faster so its hard to complain about that,” said coach Cyndi Gallagher.

The UCLA swim and dive team hopes that prior experience in competitive conference swimming will help it when it travels to Minneapolis for the NCAA championships starting Thursday.
