UCLA students and community members set up around 30 tents in front of Royce Hall on Thursday morning to demand UC divestment as the war in Gaza passes its 200th day.
Organized by Students for Justice in Palestine and the UC Divest Coalition at UCLA, the encampment represents solidarity with Palestine, said Annie, a spokesperson for the organizations who did not provide their last name for safety reasons.
Broxton Avenue came to life Friday as the Bruin Flea hosted its last event of the school year.
The monthly flea, held from 3 to 8:30 p.m on the third Friday of each month, featured vendors and activities including henna art, jewelry and clothes.
The Bruins are fewer than 100 days away from transitioning from the Pac-12 conference to the Big Ten.
But before they can look to the future, one final Pac-12 championship will mark their last event as part of the conference.
A fresh bat was the answer the Bruins needed.
With the game tied at two in the sixth inning, redshirt senior catcher Sharlize Palacios stepped up to the batter’s box as a pinch hitter.
