UCPD investigating attempted armed robbery in Westwood Village

A person was threatened by a man with a semi-automatic weapon near Gayley Avenue and upper Landfair Avenue on Friday.

According to UCPD, the man approached the person from behind and threatened them with a black semi-automatic handgun at approximately 8:43 p.m. in what police believe was a robbery attempt.

The man was wearing black clothing and stood at approximately 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall. Police also believe the man was operating a dark-colored, four-door sedan.

It is unknown if the victim is affiliated with UCLA. The incident currently remains under UCPD investigation.
