Gabriel Sanchez-Jorgensen sported a striped black-and-white shirt, a black knit sweater, dark jeans and black Dr. Martens boots. The third-year history student bought his Dr. Martens for only $20 while he was visiting his family in Ohio.
Chloe Quinlan, a graduate student, said she bought her favorite waterproof black Chelsea boots when she traveled to Europe in December and saw many people wearing them. She chose to wear the boots because she expected rain and paired them with an army-green jacket, regular dark skinny jeans and black sunglasses, she said.
Hannah Kirsch sported her Dr. Martens boots with a vertical stripe button-down, a black jacket and white Levis jeans. The graduate student has had her boots for five years, and said she likes them because they offer ankle support and are very durable.
Carolina Maranian, a third-year communication student, said she felt confident sporting a leather moto jacket, high-waist jeans from Zara, a turtleneck from Free People and tall Dr. Martens boots with a pink cherry blossom design along the side. Because she is 5 feet 3 inches, Maranian said she is constantly looking for ways to make herself look taller, and by pairing the tall boots with high-waisted jeans, she can produce an elongating effect, she said. Despite feeling drained during week eight, she said putting together a fashionable outfit makes her feel better and has a positive effect on her day.
Ty Tanioka threw on a pair of tan boots from Topman to walk his way to a class presentation. The third-year geography/environmental studies student said he likes boots because they’re versatile and can be worn for any occasion. Tanioka paired his shoes with blue chino pants from Zara and a Lululemon polo shirt.
