UCPD on lookout for man who allegedly assaulted other man with knife

University police are searching for a man who allegedly assaulted another man with a deadly weapon Thursday.

The man approached the other man while he sat in his car near Parking Structure 9 at 6:56 p.m., brandished a knife and began threatening him, according to a UCPD alert.

UCPD described the man as black, 30 to 35 years old, about 5 feet, 9 inches and 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark hat and a beige jacket over a light-colored dress shirt, with khaki-colored pants. He also carried a black folding knife.

The man who was assaulted was not affiliated with UCLA, according to the report.
