Kara Portier, a first-year psychology student, said her outfit followed the casual athleisure trend on campus. She sported lululemon athletica leggings and a black Patagonia hat as she prepared for a long day of classes and essay writing in Powell Library.

Graduate student Connor Meggs said he attempted to follow an urban wear trend – a style he considers typical of Los Angeles. Meggs paired Adidas Stan Smiths with white-washed jeans, a t-shirt and a dad hat from Teddy Fresh and said he wanted a fun outfit for his relatively short day on campus.

Second-year neuroscience student Sabrina Reynoso combined her white Dodgers baseball cap with a Top Dawg Apparel shirt she purchased online, emblazoned with the name of Kendrick Lamar’s album, “Damn.” Reynoso bought her dad hat from Urban Outfitters and said she wanted to be comfortable because she was spending most of her day on campus.

Andrew Kapinos, a third-year human biology and society, and microbiology, immunology and molecular genetics student, said he threw on Vans, a blue Topman tee and a faded black Dodgers cap from Amazon. He said he woke up late and added the hat to his ensemble because he did not have time to style his hair.

Karen Fann, a second-year computer science and engineering student, bought and wore a navy blue hat from the UCLA Store. She paired it with a light gray sweater from Forever 21 and a pair of jeans to be comfortable while taking her midterm, she said.
