Iced coffee with half-and-half and sugar, Jimmy’s Coffee House
''This is my favorite. I like their coffee better than Kerckhoff 100 percent,'' said second-year English student Siena Casale. ''I think Kerckhoff’s is too strong – like I can’t even drink it really.''

Latte, Stage Canteen
''Even though I like to have milk and lighter types of coffee, I think if you put too much stuff into it, you sort of lose the point of having coffee in the first place,'' said third-year theater student Sara Gilbert.

Coffee with creamer, Bruin Buzz
''I think (the creamer) adds a little bit of flavor,'' said third-year business economics student Josh Manansala. ''I’m not a huge coffee drinker; I drink it more for fuel than anything, so I think it makes the fuel a little tastier.''

Latte with 2-percent milk, Cafe 451
''I love the taste of actual coffee, and I feel like all those frappuccinos – it’s more like a dessert,'' said third-year economics student Alissa Lioznova. ''I mean, I like it sometimes – four times a year – something like that, just not always.''

''I don’t like sweet things. I actually get one of these every day too, so consuming that much sugar would be a lot. I like bitter and I like the taste of coffee, hence the two shots,'' said third-year international development studies student Alex Ferrer (right).
''I like flavor better because it’s easier to drink, but you get the same amount of caffeine. Like I could’ve gotten an extra shot in mine too, but it’d still be sweeter, so for me it’d be easier to go down,'' said fourth-year psychology student Eve Crabbe (left).

Black coffee, Kerckhoff Coffee House
''I don’t like watering down my coffee with anything – it makes me feel weak,'' said fourth-year psychology student Avalon Penrose. ''I feel like if I have something that’s a fancier drink, it’s a treat for myself.''

Iced coffee with milk and sugar, Untitled, Cafe
''I’ve been here for two hours, but I drank this within 45 minutes, probably,'' said first-year computer science student Maddy Westergaard.

Italian-roast black coffee, Northern Lights Cafe
''Pretty much I pop the lid off as soon as I get (my coffee). And as soon as it reaches a temperature where I can kinda chug it, that’s my go-to,'' said fourth-year environmental science student Alexandria Florin. ''I’ll drink this in 20 minutes – that’s my goal.''

Italian-blend black coffee, Northern Lights Cafe
''My family only drank Starbucks French roast growing up – we’ve only bought that blend for 18 years,'' said first-year physics student Alina Kochocki. ''I was raised in a family that was very particular about the blend of coffee, so when I drink coffee I don’t like sugar or loads of crap in it. I like to actually taste the flavor of the coffee.''

Caramel sweet iced coffee, Kerckhoff Coffee House
''I don’t really like the taste of coffee, and this tastes the most like sugar,'' said fourth-year communication student Ali Cazel. ''I get it every time, and I’ve come to be a little bit addicted to it I would say.''

''I’m old-school; I take it straight black,'' said UCLA alumnus Dan Lynch (left).
''I can’t drink it black. I have to have sweetener, or flavoring in it,'' said Dan’s wife, Becky Lynch (right).
Dan and Becky enjoyed drinks at Kerckhoff Coffee House before UCLA men’s basketball’s game against Stanford, where the team that won an NCAA championship during Dan’s graduation year was being honored.

Coffee with skim milk, Jimmy’s Coffee House
''I honestly don’t really like sweet coffee that much. Sometimes I’ll get it if I’m just wanting to drink something for fun, but usually I like the caffeine, so I just get plain coffee,'' said second-year economics student Emily Lauterbach.
