Vicky Ho, a second-year biochemistry student, wore a yellow sweater and heeled boots, paired with light wash jeans. Ho said she factors convenience into her style and said her black wide rimmed glasses were from the UCLA optometrist. ''(I dress) definitely for comfort and I try to put bits of fashion where I can,'' she said.
Jacob Berdon, a visiting graduate researcher, paired a yellow UCLA baseball cap with khakis and a grey sweater over a white button-down shirt. Berdon said he wanted to look more formal but that he doesn’t think an excessive amount about fashion. Berdon said he enjoys Rag and Bone and Acne Studios clothing and tailors his outfits to the weather, often wearing Toms and a lightweight sweater to beat the Los Angeles heat.
Baavni Dudeja, a fourth-year communication student, sported a muted yellow blouse under a gray blazer with jeans from Diesel. Dudeja said she loved the blouse’s shade of yellow because it complements her skin tone.
Karsen Kolnicki, a first-year undeclared student, accessorized a checkered yellow dress from Romwe with bright yellow vans, an oversized distressed jean jacket from Topshop and her yellow Hydro Flask. Her favorite color is yellow, and so she styled her outfit around the vans, drawing in other yellow pieces in her wardrobe. Kolnicki said her style is influenced by ’70s fashion and small boutiques in her midwestern hometown.
Ahmad Lopez, a first-year history and economics student wore a plaid yellow Lacoste button-down with dark blue jeans, blue Converse shoes and a brown fedora. Lopez said he chose the shirt for its vibrant yellow color and contrasted it with the dark blue elements of his ensemble. Lopez said, ''I either wear suits or plaid shirts and always a fedora.''
