Karl Spires dressed in a red checkered flannel jacket that belonged to his grandfather that he paired with joggers and Jordans. The third-year English student said he likes when people are comfortable wearing more out-of-the-box outfits, but his own style consists mostly of jackets and sweatpants – especially in the colder months.
David Li, a second-year molecular cell and developmental biology student, wore Adidas shoes and sweatpants, a jacket from The North Face and an OBEY Clothing hat. He said browns and earthy tones are trendy this season, so he loves to pair these neutral colors together. He has also been layering with items like parkas and jean jackets to combat the colder weather.
Sonam Beckham, a second-year pre-international development studies student, said she wears more casual outfits in the cold weather since dresses aren’t appropriate winter wear. Beckham’s mom purchased her shoes from Nordstrom, and bought her a tote bag from a Korean site called CHUU. She finds inspiration by observing the fashion choices of people on campus and around the Los Angeles area.
Gabriella Thohir, a third-year linguistics and psychology student, wore Topshop mom jeans, Fenty Pumas and a long black sleeve from Uniqlo. She said she decided to dig out her black puffy winter coat the same day because the temperature had been too low for her during the week.
