Start your adventure on the corner of Le Conte Avenue and Westwood Boulevard, right in front of Chick-fil-A.

Take bus No. 2 – eastbound toward Sunset and Alvarado. The bus arrives approximately every 15 minutes Monday through Friday, every 20 minutes on Saturday, and every half hour on Sundays. I caught the bus at approximately 4:20 p.m.

Tap cards are very useful to have especially if you frequently use public transport in the Los Angeles area. The cards can be loaded up with money and used to pay for Metro buses or trains.

Inside, the bus is filled with grey, metal seats and yellow “stop request” bars that add color to the interior. The long, horizontal windows brighten up the vehicle.

The bus drives through Sunset the entire way, offering a view of cultural landmarks such as the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Your stop for the Metro Red Line Station is on Sunset and Vermont.

The corner of Sunset and Vermont is located in Little Armenia. You’ll notice a Kaiser Permanente to your left and the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles to your right.

If you walk three blocks North toward Vermont, you'll stumble into the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles. There's a Tacos Tu Madre location and a movie theatre on Russell.

At Skylight Books, authors go and talk about their writings to literary fans. These talks are free to the public.

Feeling dessert after tacos? Churro Borough sells ice cream sandwiches and uses round churros for the buns.

Go down the escalator to the underground train station, the Metro Red Line, located on the corner of Sunset and Vermont.

Once you arrive at the station, tap your card and make a left, where you will proceed to go down another small flight of stairs.

The train to Union Station comes every 15 minutes or so, depending on the day of the week. The train arrived at 6:10 p.m.

(Axel Lopez/Daily Bruin)

Inside the train, it's often very crowded and difficult to find seats, so most people stand.

Passengers stand by for their Amtrak trains or Greyhounds at the waiting area of Union Station.

Union Station sometimes holds free live concerts for the public to enjoy. On this particular day, the Phil Ranelin Jazz Ensemble performed jazz music. Union Station holds these events throughout the week. If interested, one can find specific dates and times on the Union Station “Happenings” website.

This is the escalator that leads up to west side of Union Station.

Union Station features a mural painted by Richard Wyatt called "City of Dreams/River of History.” The mural depicts the faces of a variety of Los Angeles residents.

The passageway of Union Station connects you to the Purple Line, Gold Line, and multiple other trains. This is the end of your adventure – onto the next!
