UCLA broke ground on the Mo Ostin Basketball Center – as well as the Wasserman Football Center – in August 2015. Both were ready in time for the start of their respective seasons in 2017.

The entrance features a display of all of key donors, plus a photo of Ostin underlaid with the names of several big names in the music industry with whom Ostin has worked.

The Mo Ostin center features a men’s basketball and women’s basketball locker room. Both are about 1500 square feet.

The signage around both the men’s and women’s courts pays respect to the pasts and presents of their programs.

The designers made an effort to incorporate imagery of Los Angeles throughout the center, which was built in part as a recruiting tool.

The locker rooms were built to mimic the ones at Pauley Pavilion in order to give the players a sense of familiarity in the new center.

The facility’s weightroom is decked out with squat racks, powerlifting barbells, olympic weightlifting barbells, treadmills, full sets of dumbbells among other state-of-the-art fitness equipment.

The opening of the new center falls in line with the Under Armour deal taking effect. Under Armour started rolling out its official UCLA apparel over the summer.
