Second-year economics student Kishan Patel is the saxophonist for Voodoo. Collectively, the group all wore tinted sunglasses to create a style amongst the group.

The festival was sold out and featured both student band and professional jazz and reggae musician performances such as jazz duo Mattson 2, DJ QBwoy and Third Degree. Concertgoers sat with friends on picnic blankets and danced in the standing area near the stage.

Fourth-year ethnomusicology student Duke Anderson is the drummer for the band Third Degree.

Reggae singer Jah9 performed songs including ''New Name'' and ''Humble Mi,'' transitioning with smooth drum rhythms between each song. She also brought up her feminist roots by making a statement encouraging the end of violence against women.

Artist Eza B. was inspired by her recent trip to the desert and drew cacti shaped figures. She wished to incorporate characters and other elements of nature because she finds nature relaxing.

Reggae singer Oje Ken Ollivierre performed under his stage name Protoje at the 31st annual JazzReggae Festival hosted by Cultural Affairs Commission in Sunset Recreation. He took the stage with funky keyboard tunes and an electric guitar, and featured two female vocalists on ''Rasta Love.'' In between two of his songs, he encouraged the crowd to live in the moment.
