Elana Sasson said she uses her outfits to channel both her masculine and feminine side. The third-year Design | Media Arts student donned a thrifted, oversized beige jacket with a hand-me-down black ski jacket for the masculine aspect of her look and ''mom jeans'' for a feminine element.

Graduate student Danielle Davis said she used bold colors to defy the overcast weather. Davis wore a burnt orange coat from Forever 21 and a brown dress with colorful sequins and embroidery to stand out against the gray skies.

Fourth-year Japanese student Anthony Hong paired a velvet floral top from ASOS with an army green bomber jacket from Uniqlo. Although Hong picked out each element of his outfit separately, the floral design of the top complimented the green of the bomber jacket by chance, he said.

Eliana Rosen showcased a light-wash jean jacket with white flower stitching and a teal shirt for a simple yet comfortable cold weather look. The UCLA Extension student accessorised the look with beige suede booties and a brown leather bag, both from Urban Outfitters.

Terrence Jerard Garcia based his outfit on his limited wardrobe options. The third-year film student paired oversized flannels and a baggy jacket with black pants from Macy’s and black converse.

Tameri Bushra said she used the gloomy weather as inspiration for her layered ensemble. The third-year art student wanted to highlight contrasting textures by complimenting her black hoodie from Tillys with her corduroy jacket from Brandy Melville, she said.
