Daniel Lopez, first-year environmental science student poses with Mr. Banana Fox. ''It looks like a carrot and it's adorable and it's fluffy. I like to pet it because it's fluffy. His tail is shaped like a banana. It has deep button eyes, dark like my soul.''

Sarah Tian, a first-year biology student embraces Sunny. ''I had him since I was two I think – two or three. I think my parents got him for me. But honestly, I just don't remember a time without him so I don't really know how he came to be in my possession. He's always been there so he's going with me wherever I go. His nose is actually kinda jacked up because when I was in elementary school my dog chewed it off. I got so upset, so my grandma got a little black ball and sewed it in.''

''It doesn't have a name. Maybe it should be called Pingu. It's cute. For Christmas 2016, my friend gave it to me in San Diego and I brought it back to college with me because it's really cute and I like the little Santa hat. I threw it at my brother once. I think it's a very sexy penguin because it's, like, showing off his chest. Yeah, he's like the playboy of penguins. Every penguin wants to be him, so, get on his level. You see, he's even got the face!'' said first-year political science student Adriana Sanchez.

''His name is Booyah. I got him when I was very little and we were Black Friday shopping so, like, whenever we got a sale, that's what my cousin would yell and so that's what I decided to name the hippo I got. I think I've had him for 10 years now. He's just very special and I've always slept next to him. Because it's on my bed all the time my friends always pose with him, like, on their snapchats and stuff, so it's really funny,'' said first-year political science student Bridget Poisel.

''It's name is Noo Noo. It was supposed to be Lulu but I couldn't pronounce it when I was little. My aunt won it at the San Diego County Fair and I wanted it so I took it from her, probably 13 years ago. I couldn't leave her at home and not bring her to college because she's (a) comfort to me. My cousin, my sister and I grew up close together so we all used to sleep on Noo Noo together so they miss her and sometimes I bring her home,'' said Iris Hinh, a first-year biochemistry student.

''I named it Triscuit. I think I was just trying to come up with names and I really liked the crackers. My mom and I made her when I was in fourth grade. We were visiting my great aunt, who's kinda like my grandma. She lives in Redlands and we're from the Bay area so we drove down and on the way we went like bought material for me and my sister to make stuffed animals to have an activity for the week. My mom did a lot of the hard sewing work. We got the fabric from my aunt's place and then sewed her, stuffed her, named her Triscuit and gave her a little bow. Over break we gave her a big surgery and I put this big patch on her and sewed her nose. This all happens to make sure she doesn't get ruined. The fabric we patched her up with is actually from my old curtains from my old childhood room, so it ended up having a lot of significance,'' said Sheridan Bowers, a fourth-year international development studies and Spanish student.
