University police are searching for a burglar who stole two laptops from an apartment on Gayley Avenue early Friday morning.

Surveillance video from the apartment showed a man entering the apartment and locking the door behind him, according to a UCPD alert. Police believe he fled from an open window.

The man was black and about 20 years old, with short black hair and a medium build, according to the alert. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt, dark pants and white shoes.

No further information was immediately available. The case is still under investigation.

UCPD recommends students lock all doors and windows.

Anyone with information about this case can call UCPD at 310-825-1491.
