University police are searching for a burglar who entered an apartment on Midvale and Levering avenues early Tuesday morning and stole a laptop and its charger.

The person entered the first-floor apartment through its dining room window between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m., said Samantha Cardona, a fourth-year psychology student who lives in the apartment. Her roommate reported the incident to UCPD Tuesday morning.

Cardona said her roommate woke up at 6 a.m. and noticed the dining room window was wide open and its screen was lying nearby. Cardona and her other two roommates woke up at 7 a.m. and noted their television was still in the apartment but a laptop and charger that had been left on a table were gone.

Cardona added neither she nor any of her roommates saw the burglar.

No further information was immediately available. The case is still under investigation.

UCPD recommends students lock all doors and windows.

Anyone with information about this case can call UCPD at 310-825-1491.
