Letter to the Editor: Daily Bruin’s coverage of UCLA-Texas A&M game showed respect, class

By Daily Bruin Staff

Sept. 7, 2016 3:21 p.m.

I’m a Texas Aggie, class of 2003 and I am also a California native. I grew up in Southern California and always favored UCLA over USC (I was a band nerd, so I like the UCLA fight song better).

Our game Saturday was a real nail-biter and I know UCLA fans had to be disappointed with the turnout. Nonetheless, TuAnh Dam’s write-up about Texas A&M showed an incredible amount of class and respect for our university that we don’t often see from opponents. While others mock our traditions because they don’t understand them, she treated our traditions with respect and acknowledged they are a big part of what makes Texas A&M a special place. Thank you very much for doing great work and demonstrating the better side of sportsmanship. It speaks highly of the Daily Bruin and your university. Thanks and “gig ’em”!
