Incoming freshman Madison Kocian secured her second medal of the 2016 Olympic Games, a silver on the uneven bars event finals Sunday afternoon.

Kocian, the reigning world champion on the uneven bars, took second place behind defending gold medalist Aliya Mustafina of Russia. The Russian, who took bronze in the individual all-around behind Americans Aly Raisman and former UCLA commit Simone Biles, scored a 15.9, just .067 ahead of Kocian.

The American from Dallas helped her team secure the gold medal in the team competition with a 15.933 on the uneven bars, the best score of her career and the highest bars score of the competition.

Kocian hit all of her uneven bars routines in Rio, averaging a 15.877 across three days of competition. She finishes the Olympics with a gold in the team competition to go along with her silver in the uneven bars. Team USA has racked up five medals so far with two event finals to go – floor exercise and balance beam. Biles, Raisman and former Florida commit Laurie Hernandez will have a chance to add to the American’s medal haul Monday and Tuesday afternoon.
