Police close part of Westwood Plaza to investigate suspicious package

Police are investigating a suspicious package reported at the David Geffen School of Medicine on Monday afternoon.

UCPD Lieutenant Richard Davis said someone reported a grocery bag outside the Jules Stein Eye Institute on campus about 4 p.m. UCPD arrived at the scene and contacted the Los Angeles Police Department to investigate the package.

Westwood Plaza from Le Conte Avenue to Charles E. Young Drive is closed to traffic and pedestrians until further notice.

No further information was immediately available. The case is still under investigation.
