Police arrested man on charges of robbery in Westwood

Police arrested a man Feb. 4 accused of robbing six people in Westwood Village since September.
Los Angeles police arrested Dennis Toliver on Westwood Boulevard and Kinross Avenue, said LAPD detective Luz Glorioso.
Toliver pleaded not guilty Feb. 8 to four robbery charges and five charges of ATM-related robbery. He is being held in lieu of $850,000 bail at the North County Correctional Facility in Castaic, California, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department records.
Toliver allegedly robbed a grocery clerk, people using ATMs and people getting out of their cars by hiding a cellphone in his jacket pocket and pressing it against people’s backs, pretending it was a handgun, said Alexander Schlegel, a West Los Angeles robbery detective.
LAPD had previously arrested Toliver in Westwood for robbery, Glorioso said.
Toliver is scheduled to appear at the Airport Courthouse on Wednesday for a preliminary hearing, according to Los Angeles Superior Court records.
