Stolen car, smashed windows reported at Gayley Avenue apartment garage

Students living in an apartment building on Gayley Avenue near Le Conte Avenue woke up Thursday morning to find their car windows smashed and personal items stolen.

An unknown number of people broke into the parking garage at 747 Gayley Ave. sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning and stole a car, said Nancy Greenstein, university police spokesperson.

UCPD could not provide the number of people involved in the incident or their descriptions.

No further information was immediately available. The case is still under investigation.
