Introducing The Quad

Welcome to The Quad, the Daily Bruin’s hub for analysis, explanation and student voices.

The Quad is the spiritual successor to The Bruin’s previous main blog, Mojo. While nominally called a “blog,” this intends to feature quality web-only reporting and analysis on issues students care about the most, interspersed with personal viewpoints from both staff in the paper and UCLA community members.

We encourage and welcome submissions (aka guest commentary or personal columns) from a wide variety of viewpoints and perspectives to [email protected]. Our guidelines adhere to that of the Opinion section, though there are fewer restrictions on subject matter.

Here is a selection of some of The Quad’s best posts and series over the last few months:

• Westwood, for rent: City Editor Roberto Luna’s series on the rise, decline and potential revival of the historic Westwood Village business district, which was conceived at the same time of UCLA’s move to Westwood in 1929.
