University police are searching for two men, one of whom brandished a firearm at a UCLA student and her friend in Westwood Village early Friday.

The student reported that two men approached her and her friend about 1:30 a.m. on Hilgard and Le Conte avenues and asked if the student and her friend wanted to smoke marijuana with them, according to a UCPD alert. During their encounter, the student saw that one of the men was holding a silver revolver by his leg.

The men then left the area and did not threaten the student or her friend.

The first man was described as Hispanic, 30 years old and 6 feet tall with a heavy set and a stubble. He was wearing dark, oversized clothes and was holding the silver revolver, according to the alert.

The second man was described as Middle Eastern, 30 years old and weighing 170 pounds, according to the alert. He was wearing a leather jacket and dark pants.

The men drove a dark matte gray, older-model, four-door sedan.

It is restricted for a licensed gun owner in Los Angeles County to unjustifiably display a firearm or be under the influence of any medication or narcotic drug while carrying a deadly weapon.

No further information was immediately available. The case is still under investigation.

Anyone with information about this case can call UCPD at 310-824-1491.
