University police releases Clery report with 2014 crime statistics

The number of reported forcible sexual offenses on campus decreased last year after a sharp increase in 2013, while numbers of other crimes stayed relatively constant, according to a university police report released Thursday.
Forcible sex offenses in 2014 decreased to 26, after they increased from 15 in 2012 to 34 in 2013, according to the 2014 UCLA Jeanne Clery Disclosure Annual Safety and Security Report and Fire Report. Similarly, the number of motor vehicle thefts decreased from 11 in 2013 to five in 2014.
The number of forcible sexual offenses on the Hill have increased since 2012, when six were reported. There were 14 offenses reported in 2013, and 20 reported in 2014.
Other crimes, such as burglary, have remained relatively constant over the past three years. In 2012, 76 on-campus burglaries were reported, compared to 75 and 79 burglaries reported in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
Aggravated assaults reported increased in 2014 from 2013, from seven to 11.
