University police are searching for a man who entered a UCLA student’s Weyburn Terrace apartment late Thursday and attempted burglary.

The student reported she heard the doorbell ring at her apartment at 785 Weyburn Terrace about 11:30 p.m. while she was in her room, according to a UCPD statement. When she saw that nobody was at the door, she returned to her bedroom, heard her bedroom door being opened and screamed.

The man left the apartment and was last seen running toward Veteran Avenue, police said.

The man was described as Asian, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 150 pounds and about 20 to 30 years old with black hair, according to the statement. He was wearing either a gray or yellow striped short-sleeved shirt and possibly a black hat. The man was also carrying a flashlight.

No further information was immediately available. The case is still under investigation.

Anyone with information about this incident can call UCPD at 310-825-1491.
