The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a small electrical fire at the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science on Saturday afternoon.

The LAFD responded to a report of a structure fire at 4:01 p.m. between buildings four and five of the engineering school, said Erik Scott, an LAFD spokesman. The flames were extinguished by sprinklers before firefighters arrived, he added.

No injuries were reported and no formal evacuation was needed, Scott said.

Firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire and a cost estimate of the damages is unavailable.
