UCLA football’s rising senior place-kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn was one of 30 NCAA football players named to the Watch List for the 2015 Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker award Thursday morning. The annual award goes to the best place-kicker in college football.

In the past three seasons, Fairbairn has played in all 40 Bruin football games. Last year, after making 18 of 22 field goal attempts, he was presented the Captain Don Brown Award for Most Improved Special Teams Player at the season-ending banquet.

The Kailua, Hawaii, native was named Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week in November after converting three field goals in a win over the University of Washington.

Fairbairn is sixth on the all-time school field goal list with 48, fifth in career scoring with 306 points and is the first UCLA player to score over 100 points in three straight seasons, according to UCLA Athletics.

Semifinalists for the award will be announced Nov. 5, and three finalists will be unveiled Nov. 23. The winner will be announced on Dec. 10, a week after the Pac-12 championship game.
