USAC issues survey to better address student concerns, improve outreach

An undergraduate student government office released a survey Wednesday asking students to evaluate how well each office has addressed student needs.

Councilmembers intend to use the survey to better understand concerns and implement solutions throughout various offices, said Undergraduate Students Association Council General Representative 1 Manjot Singh.

Singh said his office organized the survey for the first time this year to help incoming councilmembers improve outreach efforts to different student groups. The survey asks student groups who would like to work with USAC offices how they would like to collaborate.

He added that he thinks it is important for students to submit their opinions because of the mandatory fees each undergraduate contributes to USAC. Each student pays about $50 every quarter.

The survey asks students about their understanding of the USAC office being evaluated. Students can also comment on issues they face personally and suggest solutions that would address their concerns.

Students can fill out the survey until the end of the academic year. Singh said he hopes next year’s general representatives will offer similar surveys each quarter.
