The men’s golf team finished in fourth place at this past weekend’s John Hayt Collegiate Invitational.

The men’s last outing saw them finish in ninth place at The Prestige at PGA WEST.

This week, the team improved on its play, and a particular standout was junior Jonathan Garrick, who returned to the team after playing at a PGA event.

Garrick finished the tournament tied for fourth place with a score of three-over par.

Day two was his most notable performance as he finished the round with three-over par despite hitting a double bogey early and a four-over par on the fourteenth hole.

Garrick salvaged the round with four birdies and went to score under par on the last day to give him the fourth-place title.

At The Prestige at PGA WEST, redshirt senior Manav Shah led the Bruins in scoring. However, he was the second-worst scorer on the team this past weekend.

Shah finished the event with a score of 12-over par and tied for 37th place. Shah got off to a rough start, recording eight bogeys and a double bogey in the first round.

Junior Lorens Chan ended the tournament with a score of six-over par, which included four birdies on the last day. Chan tied for 15th place.

Junior Jake Knapp finished seven-over par despite an impressive eagle on the 18th hole in the second round. Knapp tied for 21st place.

Senior Preston Valder tied for 43rd place finishing with a 13-over par. Valder entered the last day at seven-over par but finished the final round with a score of six-over par.
