After winning the Butkus Award last week, redshirt senior inside linebacker Eric Kendricks wasn’t done collecting hardware. Kendricks was awarded the Lott IMPACT Trophy Sunday night, becoming the second consecutive UCLA player to win after former outside linebacker Anthony Barr received the award last year.

The criteria of the Lott IMPACT Trophy include not only defensive performance on the field, but also character off of the field, including integrity, maturity, performance, academics, community and tenacity, which forms the IMPACT acronym.

The finalists Kendricks beat include Washington’s Hau’oli Kikaha, Alabama’s Landon Collins and Duke’s David Helton.

Kendricks finished the season having won Lott IMPACT Player of the Week three times and had 139 tackles on the year, for which he ranked No. 6 in the nation. Additionally, he ranked No. 1 in solo tackles, with 96 of them.

Kendricks earned UCLA $25,000 dollars for its general scholarship fund, courtesy of the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation.
