Media from all over the nation traveled to San Francisco on Thursday to participate in the annual Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Media Day. One coach and one player from each of the twelve teams in the conference were present to answer questions and talk about the upcoming season. UCLA coach Steve Alford and senior guard Norman Powell represented the Bruins. A week before their first exhibition game against Azusa Pacific, both Alford and Powell raised high hopes to the media about the season, discussing the talent of their new core that includes freshmen Kevin Looney and Thomas Welsh.

“I think we are right there with the best of the best. We are right there with Arizona. We have the skill. We have the depth. We have the players,” Powell said.
