With the Bruins facing off against the Utah Utes this Saturday, Oct. 4, it’s never been more important to take the Rose Bowl in style. A classic part of collegiate game day is tailgating, the art of parking lot drinking and dining. In anticipation of the game, prime prepared blue-and-gold recipes so that you can show your Bruin pride while chowing down.

Garlic Fontina Cheese Dip (Gold)

Ingredients:

1.jpg

  • 1 lb Fontina cheese

  • ½ lb Swiss cheese

  • 6 cloves of garlic

  • 2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 tsp rosemary

  • 1 tsp garlic salt

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • Something to dip (we recommend a loaf of bread)

  • Small cooktop grill

  • Saucepan

Instructions:

2.jpg

  1. Dice both cheeses into cubes, making the Swiss cheese cubes smaller than the Fontina cubes, as they take longer to melt.

  2. Mince the garlic and set it aside.

  3. Chop the rosemary and measure out all the other seasonings.

  4. Add two tablespoons of olive oil to a skillet, and place the pan onto your portable grill or stovetop with it turned on the highest setting. Add garlic to the pan once the oil is warm.

  5. Once the garlic is browned, add both cheeses into the pan. Stir the cheese continuously.

  6. As the cheese continues to melt, add the rosemary and continue to stir.

  7. Once the cheese has a liquid consistency, add all the other seasonings.

  8. Slice your bread (chips work well too), and dip it in!

  1. Add rum to the limeade and mix thoroughly.

  2. Mix the Kool-aid drink mix and sugar together, then add to the liquid mixture. Stir.

  3. Pour the mixture into the popsicle molds, then put them in the freezer.

  4. Freeze the popsicles overnight for guaranteed success.

  5. Once the popsicles are frozen, take them out and share this deceptively sweet treat among friends.
