USAC election results to be announced in Bruin Plaza

The results of the undergraduate student government election will be announced in Bruin Plaza around 4 or 4:30 p.m. Friday.

In past years, results were announced in Meyerhoff Park in front of Kerckhoff on Thursday night. But the Undergraduate Students Association Council Election Board changed the location this year to ensure that Bruin Walk was not blocked for students going to or from class, said Anthony Padilla, the USAC Election Board chair.

The time the results are announced is contingent on when all campaign materials are removed from campus, Padilla added.

This means that results could be announced around 4:30 or later if students do not remove their campaign materials, though some services for the Jewish Shabbat start around 5 p.m.

Avoiding conflicts with Shabbat was one of the reasons why the Election Board and USAC planned for results to be announced around 4 p.m.

Students can vote online through MyUCLA until noon Friday.
