Event organizers for a Holi celebration at UCLA will begin distributing tickets Thursday at different locations on campus.

Holi, the South Asian festival that commemorates the spring season, will take place Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the lower field at Sunset Canyon Recreation Center, said Sunny Singh, an undergraduate student government general representative and organizer for the event.

Singh said the ticket distribution tables will open at 6 p.m. Thursday. One table will be on the Hill at Bradley International Hall and another will be in Wilson Plaza in front of Janss Steps.

Singh said the venue will hold 1,500 students, per the fire marshall’s regulations. He said all 1,500 tickets will be ready for release Thursday and students can only get one ticket per BruinCard. They cannot get a ticket for their friends, Singh said.

Students need to bring a participation waiver in addition to their ticket to the event on Saturday.

Singh said he expects students to get all the available tickets before the event, but there will be a standby line at Sunset Recreation on Saturday in case not everyone attends.
