The UCLA women’s water polo team traveled to Bakersfield this weekend to take on the Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners, whom the Bruins defeated 14-8.

The game featured the Bruins jumping out to an early 5-0 lead and took the score to 13-3 by the end of the third period before fading in the fourth period.

UCLA was led by junior attacker Kelly Ronimus, who had three goals, and redshirt junior goalkeeper Sami Hill, who had six saves.

The Bruins have now won six straight matches heading into the showdown of top-ranked teams, as they play Stanford Friday. The two teams have faced off twice so far, with each of the two winning one of the matches.

Friday’s match will be in Los Angeles at 1:30 p.m.
