Long Story Short – November 15, 2013

By Jennifer Crane and Sidhaant Shah

Nov. 25, 2013 10:51 p.m.

As things start to unwind in the Ackerman recording studio, Long Story Short hosts Jennifer Crane and Sidhaant Shah wrap up with some significant moments from fall quarter. Then, listen to the traditional Chinese instrument called the erhu played by first-year ethnomusicology student Allison Hernandez, who will talk about the origins of her instrument and her trips to China. Afterwards, Erin Donnelly begins her first segment of “Erin’s Eval”, in which she takes complicated topics and breaks them down for our audience. This week she gives us the latest updates on how students are responding to the USAC stipend increase. Lastly, first-year English student Alyssa Dorn and first-year civil engineering student Blake Wyatt from the Shakespeare Company at UCLA bring the Globe Theatre to our listeners by dramatizing a scene from “All’s Well That Ends Well.”
