UCLA basketball trails Arizona State 41-39 at the half

UCLA’s trio of freshmen combined for 36 points in the first half, but that wasn’t enough as Arizona State took a 41-39 lead into the halftime locker room on Wednesday at Pauley Pavilion.

Shabazz Muhammad tallied 15, Jordan Adams had 13 and Kyle Anderson added eight as the Bruins played from behind for much of the half.

An Anderson 3-pointer gave UCLA a brief lead, but Arizona State freshman Jahii Carson countered with a running layup to tie things up. Carson scored and was fouled a possession later, but missed the free throw.

Three Bruins have two or more fouls at the half (redshirt junior David Wear, freshman Tony Parker and redshirt senior Larry Drew II).

Arizona State is 16-0 this season when leading at the half.
