Bruins tame the Cougars in 37-6 victory over Houston

UCLA held Houston in a shutout until the last five minutes of the game, when the Cougars’ quarterback David Piland pulled off an 86-yard run for a touchdown.
However, it didn’t change the result ““ UCLA took the 37-6 win over Houston.
The Bruins continued their offensive tirade in the second half, building off the 17 points they scored in the first. Damien Thigpen returned the opening kickoff for 55 yards, setting up UCLA for a Jordon James score.
UCLA added a couple more Fairbairn field goals to bring its score up to 30 while Houston still had a goose egg on the scoreboard.
With immense pressure provided by the Bruin defensive line, Houston quarterback Piland was forced into five picks on the night. Sheldon Price recorded three interceptions, tying himself with redshirt sophomore Tevin McDonald and Rahim Moore for the most interceptions by a single Bruin in a game.
Redshirt senior Johnathan Franklin moved into the No. 2 spot on UCLA’s all-time rushing list with a 15-yard run.
The Bruins remain undefeated with a 3-0 record on the season.
