Correction: The original version of this USAC Recap contained an error. Raquel Saxe said the Academic Senate’s Undergraduate Council acknowledged a proposal to condense area studies majors, such as Middle Eastern, Southeast Asian and European studies, into one department.

The Undergraduate Students Association Council is the official student government of UCLA’s undergraduate students. Council meetings are Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in Kerckhoff 417 and are open to all students.

“¢bull; President Emily Resnick said she will present a revised code of ethics to the council at the meeting in two weeks.
“¢bull; Kristina Sidrak, internal vice president, said her office is planning Ally Week, a program that recognizes supporters of the LGBT community, for the third week of spring quarter.
“¢bull; Raquel Saxe, academic affairs commissioner, said the Academic Senate’s Undergraduate Council acknowledged a proposal to condense area studies majors, such as Middle Eastern, Southeast Asian and European studies, into one department. Saxe said UCLA is looking to consolidate university websites, including housing, class registration and financial aid.
“¢bull; The Student Welfare Commission and Cultural Affairs Commission withdrew its contingency programming requests for this week for its cooking event, Bruin in the Kitchen.
