Here is the rest of the interview with UCLA’s five-star quarterback commit Brett Hundley. Hundley, from Arizona’s Chandler High School.
Part one of the Q&A ran in Tuesday’s Daily Bruin and can be found here.
Daily Bruin: What classes are you taking?
Brett Hundley: History, Arts and Architecture and Philosophy, which is the one I don’t like.
DB: How was that Under Armour game?
BH: It was one of the best football experiences that I’ve had outside of playing for a team. It was right up there with the Steve Clarkson thing (a trip to Hawaii for the nation’s top seven quarterbacks). We got so much stuff, it’s ridiculous. I think I’ve been decked out in Under Armour stuff for the past two weeks but it was sweet to be able to play with those kinds of players and that caliber pf players was a real nice to put your talents up against the best.
DB: I saw you hook up with Oregon-commit Devon Blackmon on that long pass play in that game.
BH: Yeah, I wish he would have come here but he’s a good wide receiver and he’s really fast. That was a sweet pass, we had to start it off.
DB: Were you trying to sway him to get over to Westwood?
BH: I was trying. I thought he was going to come but I think he chose Oregon the day before so I’m happy for him.
DB: Where were ASU and U of A in this recruiting process? Did they come calling?
BH: They did but for some reason they were real late in the recruiting process so that was their major downfall but I wanted to get out of Arizona anyway so it wasn’t that big of a deal.
DB: Do you miss your friends and some of those senior year activities?
BH: I miss my friends dearly but I like being here.
DB: You came just in time for a new weight room. How’s the facility?
BH: It’s sweet. I think that’s the sexiest weight room I’ve ever seen. You’ve got a flat screen on every rack and you’ve got two 132-inch T.Vs around us and the sound system so it’s sweet.
DB: So has coach Neuheisel said that there will be a starter after spring ball?
BH: No. He hasn’t said anything about when the starter will be named but I’m just here to work and get better so hopefully I get the job.
DB: How much do you talk to Kevin Prince and Richard Brehaut?
BH: I talk to them. I say what’s up to them and stuff when I see them around. I talk to Darius Bell a lot. I don’t see Richard and Kevin too often but when I do, we’re real good friends.
DB: So how excited are you to get out there and start playing?
BH: I’m really excited. Today will be the first day of throwing so it will be a little weird because it will be the first time I’ve thrown to these wideouts, the first time I’ve had a knee brace on and it will be the first time I’ve thrown an adidas football so there’s a lot of new things coming today so I’m excited to get out there and throw the ball around and get the feel of it and happy to start throwing to college guys.
DB: How do you feel about being forced to wear that knee brace?
BH: It’s not bad. I went out to test it out and it really wasn’t that bad. I had never worn one so I was against getting one but it is mandatory but it’s not that bad.
