Over the weekend, members of the No. 8 UCLA men’s tennis team competed individually and in doubles play at the Pac-10 Championships in Ojai, Calif.

Five Bruins competed for UCLA in the main singles draw, four of whom made it out of the first round. The most impressive performances belonged to junior Nick Meister, seeded No. 7 in the field of 32, and senior Matt Brooklyn, both of whom advanced to the quarterfinals before being ousted.

Meister also saw success competing in doubles, advancing to the main draw final with partner, Bruin junior Amit Inbar. However, Meister and Inbar were unable to bring home the title for UCLA, losing to USC’s Robert Farah and Steve Johnson, 6-3, 7-6 (4).

In the Invitational singles draw, UCLA redshirt freshman Alex Brigham advanced to the final before dropping a narrow decision to USC’s JT Sundling, 7-5, 7-6. In the Invitational doubles tournament, the tandem of senior Kallim Stewart and freshman Maxime Tabatruong advanced to the semifinals before being defeated by Washington’s Tobi Obenaus and Alex Rosinski.
