Suspicious package found in Ackerman Turnaround not a threat, according to LAPD

The Los Angeles Police Department Bomb Squad has determined that the suspicious package found in Ackerman Turnaround is not a threat. The perimeter from Strathmore Avenue to the beginning of Bruin Walk is being taken down and will soon be open to pedestrians and vehicles, police said.

There is currently no more information about the contents of the package or its origin.

University Police received a call about a suspicious package found in Ackerman Turnaround at approximately 6 p.m.

The Turnaround was closed from 6 p.m. to approximately 8 p.m. while UCPD waited for the LAPD Bomb Squad to arrive for further investigation.
