Voting begins for USAC elections

Election chair does not foresee polling problems

Primary elections for the offices of undergraduate student
government begin today at 9 a.m. and end at 7 p.m. Elections will
resume tomorrow and continue through the same times. Polling
stations are located throughout campus.

"As far as I can tell so far, we are hoping that everything will
run fairly smoothly," said Nikki Vivion, chair of the election
board. "We do not anticipate any problems."

The poll workers are provided through the services of Conning
Towers. The organization has provided poll workers for the UCLA
undergraduate election for the past several years.

Election board members say they are confident of the staff and
the poll workers because of their extensive experience.

"The poll workers have done this for many years so there is a
lot of experience within this group," Vivion said. "We have a lot
of experience dealing with elections on the election board. I do
not expect anything out of the ordinary."
